Starting September 2024, we will have availability on Mondays, initially, around midday for these special sessions. At Leo Muckley Psychotherapy | Counselling, we firmly believe that quality mental health support should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. That's why we have introduced these affordable sessions to ensure our services are inclusive and available to all.
The fee for Low Cost Counselling is €20 per session and each session is 1 hour long. They are available to anyone on social welfare support or a very low income, of which proof will be required.
The sessions on Mondays are delivered by a PCI College Student Counsellor undertaking their Clinical Placement in Leo Muckley Psychotherapy | Counselling. A Student Counsellor brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to their work and rest assured, they receive extensive supervision to ensure the highest standards of care. They also uphold and work in line with the ethical and professional standards of their professional body, the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
In addition to their comprehensive training, the Student Counsellor is a Clinical Team member with oversight for mandated reporting and risk held by Leo Muckley, Clinical Director and Designated Liason Person. However, the sessions are completely confidential between the client and the Student Counsellor.

The Student Counsellor can offer a wide range of therapeutic approaches tailored to your individual needs, ensuring a personalised and effective experience that is collaborative. The Student Counsellor will always work from an evidence informed approach that considers a client's unique circumstances from a Multi-Cultural Theory perspective. The sessions will always be affirming of identity, sex, sexuality, gender, relationship and neuro diversities

If any of the above complex issues arise during the Student Counsellor's work with a client while on placement there is a clear and robust re-referral pathway in place so that the student and the supervisor can re-refer the client, if required, to an appropriately qualified specialist.
